Natural heritage can boast a unique combination of tropical climate, a vast archipelago 17,508 islands, 6,000 of them inhabited, the third longest coastline in the world (54,716 km) after Canada and the EU. This is the world's largest country and most densely located only on the islands beaches in Bali, diving locations in the Park, Mount Rinjani in Lombok and national parks range in Sumatra, just a few examples of objectives beautiful popular. Nature tourism is equipped with a heritage of rich culture that reflects the history of Indonesia's dynamic and diverse ethnicities. One fact which exemplifies this property is 719 living languages used throughout the archipelago. Ancient Prambanan and Borobudur Temple, Toraja, Yogyakarta, Minangkabau, Balinese, and of course, with so many Hindu celebrations, is a popular destination for cultural tourism.
Tourism in Indonesia is currently overseen by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism [8] International tourism campaign. Have focused mainly on tropical destination with white sand beaches, blue skies, and cultural attractions. Beach resorts and hotels have been developed in several popular tourist destinations, particularly the island of Bali as a primary goal. At the same time, integration of cultural affairs and tourism in the same scope of services indicated that cultural tourism is considered as an integral part of the Indonesian tourism industry, and vice versa, which is used for promoting tourism and preserving cultural heritage.
Some of the challenges the tourism industry of Indonesia has to face include the development of infrastructure to support tourism in the archipelago area, attack the industry into local traditions (adat), and the impact of tourism development on the lives of local people. Indonesia's tourism industry is also faced setbacks because of problems related to security. Since 2002, warnings have been issued by several countries for terrorist threats and ethnic and religious conflicts in some areas, significantly reducing the number of foreign visitors for many years. However, the number of international tourists has risen back positive since 2007, and reached a new record in 2008.
